Keep getting tangled in my new leash...

Postby XiloRider » Sun Jun 13, 2021 4:38 am

I recently learned how to cross step up and down my longboard. This opened a lot of doors. To celebrate, I bought a calf leash.

Today was its maiden voyage, and it's always wrapping around my legs. I had to do a little dance to shake it loose almost every time I popped up. My normal leash would just trip me sometimes when I crossed-stepped back; this new one is just up in my business all the time.

I know new leashes are coiled a bit, but this one actually seems more supple and straighter than average (it's a Hotline). Could I not be doing something right? Crappy leash brand?

1) Wrap the cuff around a parking meter pole and stretch it out taut, then pull on it more to get the kinks out.

2) Make sure the mount is facing out the right direction. I like to point it out at 2 o'clock when looking down at my knee.

I'll try those. I'm goofy-foot, is I guess it's 10 o'clock for me.

Actually, I didn't realize until after riding that the leash only has one swivel. I'm pretty sure that's the problem. Oh well, nice leash otherwise.

I don´t know if you already are aware of it, but never roll your leash around your board.

Take it off and let and hang it stretched or lay it stretched when you are at home. If the leash i wrapped around the board when you don´t use it, it will form and tend to wrap around your leg when you are surfing.

I often attach my leash from tail to nose with the leg cuff around the nose :D No kinks
