surfboard size to surfer

hey guys

just wanted to know what sort of size surfboard i should get for my weight and height, i looking at buying a new one, and getting back into it, as i used to surf alot when i was younger

i am 90kg or 200 pounds and 6"3

much appreciated

note : i was thinking approx 6"6 surfboard? or is that too small.. maybe 6"8 or 6"10?

for longboards i believe the rule is it should be at least one foot taller than you not sure about that though

Yea if you longboardin you should go about a foot taller or to about your fingertips when you hold your hand straight up. Im 6'4 about 200 and my stick is a 6'8 trick aderson.

It also depends on the width and thickness and over all outline not just the length.
Your skills determine how much float you need, and a reputable surf shop should be able to stear you in the right direction (if your honest with them about your abilities).

How good are you? If you're a little wobbly, you need something with loads of volume rather than something with loads of length, i.e. look for width (20" on a shortboard) and a wide nose/tail (measure a foot down from the nose/tail, over 14"-15" is pretty wide)

You could probably ride shorter if your riding decent waves I'm 6'1'' 200lbs and I ride a 6'4''x20.5"x2.5 in anything waste to chest.
