Which size for travel boardbag?

Postby shreddynck » Mon Feb 15, 2021 12:04 pm

Hey everyone :)

I am looking for travel boardbags (to fly with).

Now I'm wondering which size I should get...

My boards are all 6'0 and under. Anyone know what size boardbag is best, or how much longer the board bag should be?

Thanks for any advice.
Cheers Nick

Not sure if there's a set amount of space needed but I would suggest wrapping the boards with enough padding you think is needed and then use that length to shop for bags. Sometimes people combine their travel clothes etc for padding so it can really vary the amount of space needed

This video has some good tips and lessons learned from boards that were damaged during travel. Hope its helpful

Word of warning. My brother used to work the loading ramp at the airport. He said the heavier your make it, the harder they have to throw it.

One advice I would give is to purchase water pipe insulation foam to protect the rail. It already has a slit down the length of the tube. Some people have said Pool Floaty Noodles, but those are too thick and you have to cut your own slit.
