I had to ride a short(er) board

Postby waikikikichan » Tue Nov 17, 2020 9:10 am

Due to having only a Mini Cooper to get us to the beach, I had to use my 6'4" NSP Elements Fish. FCS MR.TX Twin-Stabi fin set up.
Kamogawa surf break, Chiba Japan.

So was it fun? Looks like a longer board would hav been a better choice however if you enjoyed it then it’s all good
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

If I had the choice, of course I would've chose a longboard. But the board caught waves easy enough and was fun to pump. Plus under the water's surface, the bottom is filled with boulder like reef, so I wouldn't want the risk tapping my longboard fin.

Wasn’t a problem in the sixties shouldn’t be now, except for the reef!

Looks like a fun day! You'd probably be able to ride the wave longer with a long board, but that first section was steep enough for some short board fun! If only that last wave had thrown the lip a bit harder, you were in the perfect spot!

I've been enjoying boards in the 5'10" range lately, most recent one is a second hand 5'10" 18'3/4 2"5/16 swallow tail. First few sessions I was in sync with it already, it's close to my other board's dimensions. I'm trying to get myself an old longboard though, summer is here with small days are getting common and I want to give it a try.

Much better, thanks for asking man! Guess it was just a matter of time for the lesion to recover and the knee to strengthen again :D

And how have you all been doing? It's been a while I didn't log in here, hope everyone is safe and well!
