Postby DBROD » Sun Nov 15, 2020 5:25 pm

Hi
Does anyone have thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) Just wondering how you manage it with surfing. I'm a beginner surfer and I am prone toTOS.

Thanks

If you have been diagnosed with TOS you probably know whether it is Neurogenic ( nerves ) venous ( veins ) or arterial ( arteries).I would be consulting my GP with regard to the neck movement associated with surfing, left right rotation and particularly flexion extension, and combined movements.
There have been documented rare occurrences where the head position while paddling has caused a form of stroke, so the vascular types of TOS should checked out in particular.

A surfing medico and a sports physiologist may provide clearer answers and a movement exercise program!

Ask more about what I#ve suggested if you need! :D
