Hi! Im new here

Postby mai » Fri Oct 28, 2005 7:58 pm

Hello!! Here I go .. I surf since a couple of years ago Im quite fascinated abt it. No waves arnd here..I was looking for someone who surfs in Uruguay, I go surfing by my own so far because my "surfer" friends are males and their g/f are pretty jealous.. I have one question maybe someone can tell me: where is from most of the people who post here? Just curious! :D

i was in arugam bay a few months ago and there were quite a few guys there who'd just sold up everything back home, cut off all relationships/family, flown over, moved into a beach hut and were living on a dollar a day doing nothing but surf, drink and get stoned... some of them had been there for years and had no intention of going home or in fact doing anything with their lives at all... it's reassuring to know that if life gets sh*tty you can always just jack it all in and do this! why on earth do people commit suicide?

I work too. No surf spots near..so I save up my money to travel during weekends to somewhere near. During winter I have to go a little far away from my usual spots since the water is pretty cold.

guy i know just did something similar. left his job, packed everything he could into his almighty "surf rig" and left for costa rica. last i heard he was living in his van in pavones surfing every day. dont think he plans on staying though, will come back after a few months or something.
