Surfing IN School

Hey everyone, just thought this was an interesting topic and wondered what your guys ideas on it are.

My friend just moved out to laguna beach, califonia and was setting up his schedule when he noticed there was surf team.

He gets to wake up every morning and go surfing first period, now tell me thats not badass.

does he goto lbh?

oh my god! He has so got it going on.
My school is like three hrs away from the sea, so i have to cram all my surfing into the hols.
which means SERIOUS surfing depression in term time!!!!!!!!

i forgot to tell yall:

we finally got the frizbee club!!
awesome sponsor too whos actually on one of the top 25 teams in the US.
for the sign up board we had 500 people, about 200 at the first meeting. maybe something is swingin my way for surfin as well...can only hope

lots of highschools have surfteams, the highschool i graduated from is going to china to train the chinese for olympic surfing or some crap

My friend is a teacher in Newquay UK and he can't surf in town, cos all his pupils are in the surf club and they go there!

If that school thought Ultimate Frizbee is a stoner sport - you have NO chance of getting a surf club going - cos surfing really IS a stoner sport!!

As for:

Wait til you get a job and only get 4 weeks holiday a year!! Then you find that you have to compete with everyone else in your department to get the weeks you want, cos you can't all be off at the same time. Then your kid gets ill and you have to take holiday to look after them so you're down to 3 weeks. Then your friends are getting married so you have to take time off for the hen/stag nights and the wedding itself. Before you know it you're down to 10 days holiday left and you REALLY need some sunshine, so you go abroad to a beautifully picturesque, but hopelessly flat beach.

So then you have the odd weekend you can get away, but money's too tight and you end up surfing twice a year!!
