Surfing Kauai

Hi, my husband and I are coming to Kauai next week for 8 days. Hoping for a little surfing. Staying at Kapaa, just wondering if anyone can recommend good spots for us to surf or even potentially a surf guide/instructor. I know that’s not really a thing in Hawaii but would be nice if there was someone willing to show us/tell us where to go/ what dangers to avoid etc. obviously at a cost/ price. We’ve been surfing waves up to about head high in Australia for about 2-3 years and about 2-3 times per week
Also, which surfboard would you recommend to bring? We have 7’6,7’, 6’10,6’4 to choose from
