yep ! guy was paddeling for a wave and there was no way of getting out of his way because he was about 2 meters in front of me so i planned to duck dive underneath him....but he decides to pull back before he pops up so i said 'sorry mate!' he gives me a really dirty look paddles past me heading towards the beach (im facing away from the beach) and i heard him stop cough one up and spit it towards me (although i was facing other direction i knew it landed close )s and then he paddeled off !

Hi Everone, first posting for me on this forum.
That really sucks having someone spit at you, why when the waves are so good do people have to be so agressive?
Have to agree weren't the waves awesome. Biggest i've seen croyde and putsborough. Putsborough was really nice and just manageable for me first thing saturday and sunday although there we're still sets to dodge on the sunday.
Cheers KS

This past weekend was epic on the coast of California. 20-32ft 15-16 second periods coming in from 300. I went out to Ghost Tree and it was double overhead+ and I saw a few freak waves pulling triple overhead giant walls of water... All with a slight offshore breeze, I'm still kicking myself in the butt for not bringing a camera...Ghost Tree last March... and another . These pics show it bigger than it was yesterday (Yesterday was only about 5 feet smaller than this, face size that is), but it still shows the wall of water Ghost tree creates, absolutely awe inspiring.

I don't think we ever get surf in the uk quite that big. Hopefully someone will prove me wrong and post a photo showing otherwise! Anyone?
These are some of the biggest uk waves i've seen photos of.

I guess there must be some photos of some of big surf in Ireland but i haven't seen any.

So you surf at ghost tree, that must be exciting/scary?

Oh god no! I'm not that good, last march (when those pictures were taken) a pro shattered his leg when he was being tossed around the washing machine of that wall of water from the footstraps on the tow-in board.
Sunday for me was a spectator day, there isnt anything but 2 reef breaks around me, and beachbreaks. Beautiful though.
