The first one, I'm assuming the other person did a failed duck dive and the board slipped up behind him. This is what I always do when I duck dive.

Second video, it looks like maybe an instructor pushed her onto the wave? From her stance, it does not look like she was able to catch that wave.

Hahaha. WOw! That first one not only did he get hit by the board but he then gets clothes lined by the leash. At least it seemed to be a soft board. The second on maybe it's just me but I hear the singer singing "I'll be on your side for ever more. That's what fins are for."
