Restoring a paddleboard

Hi guys,

I've got this paddleboard - meant for knee paddling. I used to work as a lifeguard and we would use these for rescues. It's very old so I snagged it for free since it was heading for the trash.

It's been sitting in my garage for a few years now and wondering if it's worth trying to restore it to it's former glory. Not really sure where to start with this one so hoping some of you guys might have a few ideas.

I was thinking it'd be nice to get a new paint job on there and smooth it all out. How can I be sure it's watertight? It looks like there are a few dings.

Not exactly sure what the construction, etc. is.

I know there isn't a lot of info here but let me know what you guys think

Most of these are made the same way as epoxy surfboards, so you should be able to repair it in the same way (lots of guidance online/youtube etc).

First thing is to identify all cracks, holes etc and seal them as appropriate (fibreglass cloth/resin etc, make sure it’s epoxy safe). Be conservative- if in doubt then repair. You might want to sand back some of those old repairs and redo them just to be sure

If you then want to then paint it, you can. I’ve never done it do others may (hopefully) chime in, but I believe auto paint using spray cans is the easiest method.
