Yeah, that's why I looked Phil Edwards up. I wanted to see what the rocker was like on those early longboards. It just goes to show you that you can take off on a steep, 6 foot Pipeline wave with almost no rocker in your board (see video of Edwards' first recorded surf at Pipe). It helps, of course, to have a longboard.
