Did my first cross-step today!

Stoked! It was actually the first time I tried... I used to just shuffle, but realized that couldn’t go on forever lol.

I can do cheater 5 on my mini longboard now but cross stepping on a long board doesn’t come easy to me even with some land practice. How did you get out of shuffling?

It’s hard, you just have to consciously do it, knowing you’ll give up much of your wave(s). Stepping back is the hardest part!

That's why you need to walk to the nose and not run to the nose. Practice taking that initial cross-step and uncross, then cross-back and uncross back to where you were. Then next time 2 crosses and 2 crosses back.
1 2 3 - 3 2 1. Better yet. Front L T Back T L, Front L T L T Back T L T L. Keep your chin up and walk like a regal King ( or Queen )
