British Airways have you been refused boarding?

I’m flying from London to Faro next week and would like to bring my surfboards with me. I found out that BA has a restriction on height and it’s too late to cancel my flight as it’s a family holiday. Has anyone been refused boarding a flight at the airport. From what I understand I cannot use my 6’7 bag for my 6’4 boards since the height limit is 6’4

I’m wondering if they follow the rule measure the height and turn people away at the airport.

Good luck BA had a complete ban a few years back.
TIP: check airline policy well before booking, learnt from fly with longboards!

They're not denying you the passenger, they will deny your check-in item the board.

You may need to let them know in advance that you intend to bring a surfboard. I needed to do that when flying ANA. If your case is to big, fold over the extra nose area and tape it down. (You are already maxed out with just the board's length. ) Why you want to take your board anyways ?

Faro in Portugal? Forecast is 1 feet wave. Probably better to rent a big board there?

Thanks for the help. I’ve pretty much done all of the suggestions above. BA said that if it’s foldable soft bag it should be okay but they don’t want to provide support for this. People have done it before without an issue. I just wanted to hear if anyone has ever had a different experience at the airport with BA with a similar bag after the ban was lifted. Should have mentioned that I’m flying to Faro and going to surf in sagress.
