if you must go for a strat then i would save up for a mex fender not a squire. squires are cheap and they feel it. also a bad guitar can impare progress.

yea, a squire is really not that great (no offense to those who have them). ive got a mexican that is good, except the bridge kinda pisses me off, the new fender one installed on the americans are much better.
