Surf in Albufeira, Portugal?

Hi there,

I'm spending Christmas down in Albufeira this year. Since I'm bound to get bored just doing nothing I thought I'd check if there's anywhere close I can catch some waves?

I'm a beginner so I'm not looking for any killer waves but some nice consistent waves would be nice.

Thankful for any info about the conditions and also if there are any nearby shops that do rentals etc, or even surf schools.
