What board to get

Okay so a few times a year i will make a visit in england to devon and i will surf but times get busy and surf board rental can be busy and run out of decent boards so i have come to the conclusion i would like to buy myself a shortboard. As i wont be using the board on the daily i have been doing research and looking at boards and everything is out of my budget but i see bic do a good decent sized and affordable board known as the bic dura-tec shortboard. I was wondering if this would be a decent board as where i surf when i go away waves dont really get bigger than 6 ft and i wont be using it all year round and only in the summer mostly. The bic dura-tec 6'7 shortboard seems to be nicely shaped and solid but i am just not sure is there a negative reason why they are so cheap?

what kind of boards do you rent? Have you ever surfed a 6'7 board before?

bics are cheap because they are mass manufactured using cheaper material. But that doesnt mean they are bad. A 6'7 board might be bad for you, however.

Yeah i usually rent a 7 but am feeling confident to go down to a 6 7
