I know I've gotten too much saltwater in me when my calves start cramping. The cells in my calves have probably pushed their water outside of the muscle cell and the cramp is the muscle cells saying they're not happy. (There's my scientific explanation) That's when I know I need to get my electrolytes back in balance.
