Foamie

Postby Jeffdrisc » Fri Feb 09, 2018 1:28 am

Hi, I'm looking to buy a foamie for ankle to knee high waves we get during the summer in New England. I have a 6'8 egg for anything bigger. I was looking at an 8' catch surf odysea log, but it costs more than other brands, like wavestorm or California board co. Is the odysea log a much better board, or does it perform similar to the cheaper foamie options in small surf? Thanks, Jeff

1) which Odysea 8'0" Log ? The rubber fin thruster ? The FCS compatible thruster ? The center box single fin model ?
2) "Much better" may mean different things to different people. Do you mean Quality ? Longevity ? Turning, Carving, Noseriding, etc. ?
3) have you ridden the 8'0" Wavestorm ? Is there a Costco nearby you that stocks that board.
4) what "moves" do you plan to do in ankle high waves ?

I would probably be looking at the plastic thruster setup to save $. Not looking to do much in the type of conditions I would be using it in. Pretty much catch small waves, popup & head down the line. With that said, ability to catch the most waves in really small surf would be most important to me. I haven't surfed the waveform yet. Thanks.
