day trips near playa guiones

hi guys... heading to nosara in a few days for a week long surf trip. this will be my second time there... last time we just surfed at the main beach in playa guiones. debating whether to hire a guide to take me to some other spots in the area - wondering if anyone on here has done that and whether it was worthwhile? i was planning to last time, but guiones was so much fun we didn't bother. reading reviews of the other breaks within an hour or so of playa guiones nothing really caught my attention as being worth it, but would love to hear otherwise. for reference, i'm an intermediate+ goofy foot, plan to bring a retro fish and a 6'2 rounded pin... also if you have specific recommendations for surf guides please share. thanks.
