yea it should be pretty good, i'm 5'9" and tried to learn on a 7'4" fun, it didnt work out to well, so i ended up getting a 9'2" longboard. I love that longboard and it was fully easy to laern on. Everyone needs a longboard for those small days. but hey thats just me, it all depends on how it feels to you.

Sounds about right, almost

Are you getting it made or is this off the shelf?

You might want to think about a touch more width, particularly if its got a shortboard pointed nose.

Maybe think about getting a board with a slightly more rounded nose section for a bit more volume up front 8)

As long as you can already surf, you should be okay on that but it might be a bit frustrating for the first few attempts!

havent found the exact board yet but am looking at possibly channel island m13 in that size. it is available in tuflite as well - thoughts on that vs fibreglass?
