man this sucks

just finished my first week back at college after a superb summer surfing the scottish hebredies, all i can say is what a joke!

Why on earth did i come back?? seriously i dont think it is possible for me to stay here without severly dangering my sanity!

I dont think i can take another chemisty lecture without slipping into a coma...

Anyone who has left college and is in work or university....tell me it gets better?!?!

or just have a bitch about it!

Yea, fully agree, i'm in my junior year of high school and have work from when i get out until 10 so im fully packed with stuff to do. I've fallen asleep in everyone of my classes and as far as i can remember have already been kicked out of a couple. I just have to get out on the water, so once i save up enogh money i'm getting a new board a full tank of gas and i'll be back out, until then, just being a tool. Good luck with college bro.

Well at uni you get more free time and it's really down to you how much time you spend working on your subject.

Having said that I still fall asleep in lectures!

Oh also you get huuuge holidays, the main incentive for me being the june till end of sept summer hols

i can definitly relate to the falling asleep senario! its just so easy when ya bord senseless in a quiet lecture hall...

hopefully once i go to uni things will get better becuase i will be on the coast and not stuck inland with a load of workaholics who are only worried about where their next piece of ikea furniture is coming from...

Strange thing is that at uni, you have more time to surf than any other time in your life (assuming you don't have to get a job).
Once you start working, life throws you other "priorities" and your surf sesh's become less and less.
So enjoy uni time to the FULL! 8)

From Portsmouth you can get to both Bournemouth which can be good (especially if they ever actually build the reef they're talking about) and the Isle of Wight which has some great surf.

Good luck!

cardiff's good, i get to the beach a couple of times a week, it's only half an hour away. it's nothing compared to north devon tho and if there's good surf on the way i still go home

i so feel your pain though about having to get back down to work... i had to delete all the music i was listening to when i was travelling round sri lanka and all the music that reminds me of the summer... too painful to listen to when you're stuck in a skanky student house with the grey skies and the rain and a massive assignment on the desk  :(
