This to short?

Postby Newp36/57 » Wed Aug 03, 2005 4:54 am

Hey everyone,

I just recieved a M4 merrick its 6'0 18 1/2 wide and 2 1/4 thick. I am 5'10 149pounds, now i do like to ride my boards short. My other board (which is currently stuck in santa cruz...fleshin' airports)is a flyer 5'11 i loved it. Anyways is this board to small? My frontside feels great but my backside gets bogged sometimes (especially in high tides)compared to the flyier. Thanks for any opinions posted.

it sounds kinda short, but in good waves (and your a good paddler) you should be fine

Heh ya...got some decent waves today down in Newport, it performed great on the frontside but i think i ride the pad to much on my backside other then that its workin out great. =)

P.s. Tommy you pretty much hit it on the money with that comment. Thanks for postin man.

not too small at all

TB is 5'9 and he rides 5'11 as his standard short board

the smaller the better, but only in waves up to 4 feet, otherwise they CAN feel a bit skatey, depending on ur weight
