If your into the whole metal thing, an ibanez should do the trick. The RG series is pretty decent, but on some of the lower end models your going to have to do some tweaking of the electronics to get a really good sound. Gibsons work well with the ACDC kinda stuff but if you want a more defined crunch, you might find you have a hard time getting that. A les paul's tone is a bit fatter and looser, where as the ibanez is tighter and more defined when the distortion really starts to pump. The other consideration is your amp. The amp will make or break your tone. Thats just my two cents…

Oh its a Santana SE, i cant afford one of their really really nice models. But that guitar still played really good for not being a really expensive guitar.

Don't go cheap, get the gibson, awesome sound and definitely a guitar that will last forever, i play my dads from when he was a kid and it sounds a thousand times better than the new fenders everyone gets.

hmm gibson and fender are both pretty good ... my choice would be a paul reed smith ... and if youre getting a 7-string definitely go with the ibanez!

Hey does anybody have any thoughts on Squier (By Fender) Strats?

They look the same as normal strats, pretty much... but i can by one in a pack with amp and accessories at the store for 670 bucks Australian Dolalrs), and on sale it should be 560 or less, fact.

So yeah it sounds like a good deal and ive played one before but yeah i wanna move on from acoustic and get the real deal:D
