I love the shape of your new board. I also think it looks great. I think you might have a keeper there. Since you brought up the Big Boy, I took it out last weekend in 4 to 6 foot surf and was blown away by how fast it is. I've been riding my 9'6" longboard lately so the 7'4" was a serious shift in gear. I don't know if it's just me being slow (probably), but the board just seems to fly down the face of waves. On my first wave I was in the middle of a slow poke popup and found myself nearly in the trough of the wave as I popped up. I was riding a steeper wave than usual so I should have gotten to my feet faster. Anyway, the board was flying along so fast that I didn't really get it under my control (partly because I haven't surfed backside in months) and just as I started to get the board in the direction I wanted I hit some chop and that was it. I just went flying. It was like the board bucked me off. There's a pretty large planing surface on the Big Boy so it can move, but it definitely gets bumpy in chop. Still, I like that speed. Anyway, I'm having fun trying to tame it.

Just back from a surf....really nice with the thruster set up....I'll snap a pic later. More drive, less squirelly, could be more aggressive rather than letting the wave come to me (which I actually like, but fun to switch it up).....had some really nice waves....a fun board to surf and I can come back to work in the evenings with more energy since it paddles so well. Definitely needs a wave to work though....tried a couple of small tweener waves between sets and the board just needs more face and wave to run. This one is definitely a keeper......good times!

I'll leave this setup for awhile.
