I am looking to buy my first surfboard and came across this fresh fish Mola Mola board and was wondering what people opinion on it was ??
i have searched the internet and no one has seemed to have heard of it which makes me kinda sceptical! if so what would you guys suggest as a first board ?
I am 6'2 and 83kg
Thank you so much

I bought the Fresh Fish Mola Mola 7'0 last summer and have been surfing it in different conditions in sweden. Bought it because i wanted maximum volume and the board was cheap. As with many things in life, you get what you pay for. no fancy resin tint colors or anything like that. The board is PU and glassing is OK i guess. Dings just as easily as any PU board.
I used it as a board to downsize from a 9'4 longboard. For that it went fairly OK. But to be honest i think i would have benefited more to go to a mini mal shape with more standard dimensions. The board is something like 7'0x23x3 1/8 at 68l of volume there is a lot of rail to try and sink. So bottom turning requires a heavy back foot and commitment.
Being a thruster it doesn't really go well if you just want to take of and cruise. Going from a single fin mal it got painfully obvious i had a lot to learn when it comes to pumping for speed and staying in the pocket.
Now, i've only been surfing for two years or so..mainly on a longboard. It was also my first board. I can take of on green waves, bottom turn, trim, and cut back (sometimes). So i'm still a beginner.
I for one do not recommend going full on longboard for beginners. 9 feet plus a little much to learn to handle, especially if in a semi crowded line up.
My suggestion would be a mini mal/egg shape around 8 feet with a 2+1 setup. But then again. I like to cruise when i surf. Not trying to go vertical.
