California/Hawaii Surf Board rental?

Postby maxsurf2017 » Sat Dec 31, 2016 3:09 pm

Hi there,
my name is max and I’m planning a trip to surf California and Hawaii next fall. As this is something quite special and expensive for me as an european I’d like to plan as much as possible before arriving.
I was checking if there is some shop where I could book my rental gear online but I could not really find one. Do you know any or maybe a registry for shops that rent stuff?

Cheers Max

Happy new year Max, a question for you, Can you surf? Or is this an experience trip?

If you do surf what are you riding?
If you are an absolute beginner then the advice you need is different from what a skilled surfer needs, so a little more detail about yourself, both for fun and safety. :D
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun! 冲浪爷爷

3) Are you going to California first then Hawaii ?

If I lived in SoCal, I'd definitely check Quivers out. I have not used this service and have no idea what the customer service is like. It looks like an interesting concept. It might be perfect for a vacation rental.

Hi folks,

thank you for all your replies.
I can surf but more on a intermediate level. So I'd go for a 7'6" or maybe longboard. I will most likely not surf all the time but of course check out other sights. Planning to go to Santa Cruz and L.A. region. On Hawaii it will be Big Island but not Hotel decided so far.

Hope that helps. Cheers
Max
