If you're going to do it alone, keep in mind that unless you're in perfect physical condition you'll probably be spending two hours a day actually surfing. If you're body is lacking strength, then you'll probably be sore enough that you'll want to take a day or two or three off which, of course, you should. You're on vacation so have fun and relax. I know that if I take a surfing vacation, I'm also going to learn a foreign language (that's my brand of fun) so I will line up a place with an affordable language school. That way I can meet people, maybe even some other surfers, and have fun learning a foreign language. I want to work on my Spanish skills so I look for language programs as well as surf destinations. You might want to plan your trip more along the lines of what you'll be doing when you're not surfing.
