Surf in North Carolina for new resident

Postby Claudio » Sun Dec 25, 2016 1:42 pm

Dear all, I am from Spain and I am used to surf in the north coast in Asturias but now I am living in Raleigh, North Carolina, since two weeks. I will be here working for two years or more so I am looking for the best beach to surf and not so far from Raleigh.

I am very pleased to all the information you can give me, because i am completely lost. I should wait until february because of the low temperature?

Thanks to all

Magic Seaweed makes very accurate forecasts for my favorite breaks. I recommend you look around the North Carolina page for the best surf in your area. :D

Claudio,
it's not too cold! Search this forum for my posts about surf breaks at the North Carolina Outer Banks. Whether you do or do not, use additional means to look for surf breaks in and around the Outer Banks.

I lived in Raleigh for many years (followed by lengthy periods in NC cities and other small towns). NC is a beautiful place to work and live. I hope you will enjoy it. The surfing is not great, but you will find it in the Outer Banks. If you rather fish, boat, and swim in salt water, then there are many 100's of nice options in NC (SC and GA, too).
