Barcelona surfing spots

Postby avillax » Wed May 25, 2016 12:21 pm

Hi, I'm planning to move to Barcelona and I'm looking for an apartment in Barceloneta (or another beach in the area)

Where I can surf. I know Barcelona is not a famous surfing spots but for those who have experience, how often is there a surfable swell?
I'm planning to bring a hybrid "Channel Islands' Average Joe".

Thanks.

I just spent a couple of years in barcelona and scored good waves surprisingly often. Don't get too excited though.....it is not indo!!
Winter is the best for swell and it is freezing cold. There are a few great spots around for you to explore and its close to Marocco for a getaway to some real waves.
The Pic was an unusual day of big swell...it is not this good very often.
Cheers
Rory

Killer stuff!

But right now it is completely flat!

What do you think of San Sebastian?
I would be tempted to move there except that it always rains and it is same cost as Barcelona. Know any good places in Spain:

I heard Mundaka or something like that = lots of localism, expert level waves?

Cannary Islands = full of urchins

any other recommendation?
