Surfing the Philippines in January

Hey guys, planning a solo trip to the Philippines this January and looking for some advice.

The main island for surf in the Philippenes is Siargao, i think, but i'm assuming therefore the most crowded. I heard there is just as good surf on Luzon but no way near as crowded. Does anyone know more about this? I will be looking to hook up with a surf guide for part of the trip as well.

Will it be a pain to travel with more then one board?
whats the main form of transport on the Philippenes?
