buying a longboard

Postby emma0307 » Mon Jul 11, 2016 6:01 pm

I'm looking to buy an all around longboard for soft beach breaks. I'm 5'3'' and 115lb. I want something that has some nose riding capabilities. I've been looking into a 9' takayama in the pink but I'm reading mixed reviews. any suggestions for a good longboard that'll last me a while?

A cautionary review of the Takayama board.

General Noserider information from Surf Science

I'm 5'7," 130 pounds and in the market for a noserider too. At this point I'm leaning toward a 9 foot Torq. Search up the Surfing Waves threads about this brand and wait a bit for the more experienced riders to reply. :D

Your 5'10" Uber Plank has nose riding capability, so getting ANY longboard should allow you to walk to the nose.

Post photos of some boards you think you like, so we can give some input.

Walden's Magics have a very progressive design with many concaves, hard rails and these chine edge channels up by the nose. But also it locks in nicely for nose rides if you know how.

Are you getting the PU or Molded Epoxy version ?
