I agree and love what you said about body surfing. Several years ago, I took the family on a vacation to Maui for my daughter's college graduation and thought we would spend our time zip lining and snorkeling...WRONG! The kiddos wanted to body surf at Kapalua and we were in the water 4 hours a day. I've never been so sore or so happy!

Amen to that!
I've been sharing the water with lots of longboarders, since the closest spot usually have some mushier waves, and I"ve seen the same guy surf the same day with both shortboards and longboards. Guess each one has it's own appeal, why not enjoy both? :D
