Leashes - 'Cos its new? Or just rubbish?

Postby drowningbitbybit » Tue Aug 09, 2005 12:30 pm

For the first time in years, I put a new leash on my fish recently (an FCS one).

And I hate it!!
Stiff, inflexible, and I can really feel it dragging through the water :?

So my question - are new leashes always like this? Have I just forgotten that they start off stiff and get in the way, and drag?

Or is this leash just cr@p?

FCS are great leashes; I imagine being a fish for small waves it's the short "comp" leash (i.e the 6' size) If not - why did you put anything bigger/heavier on a small wave board?

I use the FCS comp leashes for everything other than bigger wave boards, and then only the regular 6' size. No probs for me.

Trick; stretch the sucker for an hour or two, just enough to give the cord some tension, maybe tie the ankle strap around the nose of the board. It'll take the kinks out permanently...

Yup, its only a lickle leash

I'll give the stretching trick a go, and if that doesnt work... its going in the bin!!

Cheers Brent :D
