I noticed a lot of surfing vacationers would like information on ideal surfing locations (and that's understandable), but I don't see them come back to the forum and leave any surfing vacation reports. If people actually reviewed the places they went to and left meaningful reviews, other vacationers might be able to search that info and get some useful information. Subject lines like Surf Vacation: San Francisco along with some useful information could actually make this site something of a repository of travel information. Reviewers could write reports like this.
Surfing Location: San Francisco
Surf Camp Name (if applicable): Billybob's World Of Surf
Time of year: January
Accommodations: Squatted in Golden Gate Park because hotels are outrageously expensive.
How expensive was the place: Ridiculously expensive.
Beaches Surfed: Ocean Beach, Fort Point, Lindemar
Surfing conditions: Huge shore pound at Ocean Beach, difficult paddle-out at OB, fun waves, intermediate to advanced surfing level . . .
Tips for surfing this place: 4/3 wetsuit, booties, hood
Hazards: Strong currents, Quality Assurance engineers in cafes, micro breweries packed with project managers, Disney stores, getting drunk at the Sushi Boat Restaurant, North Beach
Recommendations: Aunt Charlie’s Lounge, El Toro Taqueria, Castro Theater
Other: Make some time to wander around Oakland. Billybob's World of Surf was the best surf camp ever!
You gotta give some info to get some.
