Should I trade my shortboard for a Bic fish board? Advice??

Postby Rbsurf » Sun Mar 06, 2016 3:17 am

I lived in California and surfed for a while then moved to the east coast. Last summer I got back in the surfing after renting longboards at a local surf shop. I decided to buy a shortboard which was a mistake because I can't really use it with the conditions over here. There's mostly like 1-4ft waves. So I found a guy on craigslist that wants to trade a BIC Dera tech 5'11 Fish board for my 6'2 Jimmy styks shortboard. I'm not really sure if I'm making a bad trade or not because I feel like I'll actually be able to ride the Bic surfboard but I think its super cheap compared to the board I'll be giving him. I would consider myself beginner/intermediate.
Here's details of the board I'll be giving the guy http://oceancycles.net/surfshop/newsurfboards.html

and here's a picture of the board he's giving me (attached)

Should I trade him?

Don't trade; buy it and sell yours separately.

So you now want to go from a 6'2" to a 5'11" ? It may be a bit wider but it is still a "short" board. Don't make the same mistake TWICE.
