Will a closed ding affect your surfing or do anything bad?

Postby username098 » Mon Jan 18, 2016 2:44 am

I just bought a used short board, and it has a couple of dings, but none of them are open to water, will this be bad or affect my boards performance in any way?

If you can click it of flick the ding then sooner or later water will get in .
Your board will get heavier, your stringer could rot, heat could make your board steam and delaminate!
Your foam will turn yellow and make your board look ugly!
How do you know the ding is closed? PU or EPS board? Etc etc etc, post a picture, further help can given!

Dings are weak spots in the board that can be damaged much easier than the rest of the board so even if they are watertight now they will not be in the future.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.
