Wales surfing information

Postby surf patrol » Thu Jan 01, 2004 2:48 am

For north Wales you are really looking at surfing around Abersoch, I've not surfed there myself so I can't really say much more. If you have made it to Hells Mouth there are other waves around this area withind relatively short driving distance from each other. Maybe some Welsh surfer out there will be able to enlighten us all.

There are plenty of spots in South Wales - head to the Gower and you are almost certain to get a wave. (You can have a cracking good night out along the Mumbles!)
A favorite of mine is Freshwater West in Southwest Wales, and also one of my favorites due to the setting - Manorbier.

i dunno about north wales, but there's come nice spots in the south, and along pembrokeshire aswell. i surf rest bay in porthcawl, which is pretty consistent... but therefore crowded. luckily it is a long beach, so its not too bad. check it out sometime

Check out the beachguide at forces-of-nature.co.uk/beachguide/index.htm, it covers pretty much every beach in Wales, although there are a number of secret reefs missed out on purpose.

back to the mouth

Postby chosen few crew » Wed Mar 17, 2004 11:42 pm

Me and the crew are heading back to the mouth in may with some water housing so will be opening up a web site with water shots. The crew are all a bit mad so we will be editing a video (jackass stlye). If last session is anything to go by then expect some laughs both around abersoch and hells. How we did not get arrested last time is beyond me. The pants off in the chippy stunt was an all time classic.....
News on how to access site will follow soon....

check out http//mysite.freeserve.com/surfgurunorth, this site is run by a manchester based surfer with excellent local knowledge of north wales and scarborough area, also accurate forecasts, very willing to advise on when and where to go surfing
