Now, I dont know much about blackpool, (but its lunchtime and its either muck about looking at stuff on the web or doing some real work) so maybe Im wrong... BUT...

I cant see that there would ever be decent surf in blackpool, except maybe some sloppy windswell.
There just isnt the fetch for it to get decent groundswell. It would have to wrap around ireland, then up past wales, then around Caernarfon peninsula :?

Or round northern ireland, and around the isle of man, but thats a very narrow stretch of water

AND the one thing I do know about blackpool is that its got very very flat beaches - but not 'good flat' like, for instance, saunton, just 'flat flat' where the foreshore is measured in miles (think 'cockle pickers') so even if there is swell it wont break, but just fade out :(

Now, hopefully for your sake, maybe Im completely wrong about surfing blackpool but I notice that beachwizard.com has nothing in that area and if you search 'surf blackpool' on google you get some page about bernard mannings and stag nights with no mention of water!

Think you're out of luck my friend

Takes a HUGE swell to give anything surfable north of Liverpool and south of Selafield way...

Your best bet is trips to the east cost.

OI! papa: do you know where blackpool is?

East and west. Not the same thing.

Blackpool got xxxxx for surf, and an even worse footy team. Go somewhere else.
