Fred Van Dyke died

Postby oldmansurfer » Tue Sep 15, 2015 6:19 pm

Big wave surfer and fly fisherman extrordinair Fred passed away at the age of 86. He wrote an autobiography that I read recently titled "Once Upon Abundance". I enjoyed it as it was much more than just surfing. He was one of the original big wave surfers and if you look at the video at the bottom of the link it has him surfing on longboard on big waves. http://encyclopediaofsurfing.com/eos-blog/fred-van-dyke-1929-2015/
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

I met someone threw work who knew him and advised me to read the autobiography. He was a real character whose life in small parts paralleled mine.
