Emo; just take a snippet of Robert Smith dress sense and eye makeup(circa The Cure), add a touch of Morrisey "woah is me" angst without any of the humor (circa The Smiths), and stir gently with Bob Mould energy (al-la Sugar in the mid 1990's) and there you have it. Add one surly teenager, studded belt and old-school vans...EMO!

^underoath are a screamo band

umm well with guys its generally in the line of tapered black jeans, vans or chucks, emo fringe (sometimes), flesh tunnels, band shirt, bandanas, badges etc.

if you know the emily the strange line of clothing, thats pretty much what girls wear along with headbands, fringes, denim skirts with black 3/4 tights ....

of course this is generalising and only refers to people who specifically dress 'emo'. there are many variations. i just thought id give you an idea.

Let me get this straight. You dress like the twats in the picture above and "get ridiculed" because you listen to metal as well? Sure there is no other reason?

No wonder we have wars.

But there's not one common denominator in any of the three photo's above. All appear quite different and it would appear EMO means subtly different things to each of you... A photo of the definitive EMO please!!!

I can't believe this thread warrants 2 pages of posts!!

I listen to everything from Beethoven to Megadeth and dress in clothes that are comfortable.

No-one takes the p*ss out of me!

Nuff said!

Thanks for taking the p*ss out of me!!

Thing is, I don't care if they are gay, I like (some of) the music and I don't really care what anyone thinks of me.

I went surfing with a friend of my brother in law. He had his brand new Rip Curl shorty and Aloha mini-mal. I had my 15 yr old, battered to sh!t no-brand wetsuit and a beaten up 6'6 thuster. He strutted up and down on the beach 'looking cool' - I pulled off my first floater and came in totally stoked.

Who's going to get more respect? My point is, it doesn't matter what you wear as long as you're comfortable with it. Screw everyone else!

Fashion sucks big time! Wear whatever you want!

Surfing aint about image - it's about feeling, that's what counts.
