Noob.... Need some help

Postby jjc07us » Mon Jul 11, 2005 4:23 am

Hey im planning to start learning how to surf this by the end of the summer. I am 5'11"ish and weight 160-165 I was wondering what you think I'd be better off with a 7'6" mini mal, or a 6'6"-6'10" board? Keep in mind I've never surfed but once I learn I plan on doing it often.

Thanks for your help..

i think you'd be better off with a 7'10" board... If you never surfed, why would you be planning on surfing a board thats only 6'6" or whatever.. that will only cause you frustration and you'll hate surfing. Think BIG and THICK.. Rent a few boards for a while to test it out.. But dont go headlong into buying a board that isn't fit for your experience even if you will surf often. You gotta take things slow and be patient.
