Jester - Sorry, but they sell those things already. They're stick on. I saw them on a guys board once. Thought he had two pieces of blue chewing gum in front of his center fin. That was over 5 years ago. Don't see them anymore, so I guess it didn't catch on ( or work ).

banz - noticed on your board that you need to shorten the leash rope. The Rail Saver is not being effective. Luckily you have a molded-epoxy board that's very durable. I hope your leash rope on your other PU board has a shorter rope. Long leash ropes keeps us repair guys in business.

Jester, also keep in mind that speed for the sake of speed isn't always what you want. At some point controlling the speed is important; fins aren't all about drive and the bottom of the board has all sorts of contours that affect this stuff as well. But interesting idea. The science behind golf ball dimples is amazing; but it's in sailing that there is a lot of research that is relevant to surfing

Is the leash rope the bit where it attaches the board and the leash? The guy who sold me the board forgot how to do a double knot leash rope. So I ended up with a single knot. I don't understand why long leash ropes would cause a problem? They more likely to break?

It is pretty thick now. I would say 2-3 blocks of wax used on that board since I got it new.

Some says that dirty boards shows your experience with surfing, but my friends knows that I just don't look after my board... Especially I don't wipe the water off after I rinse it. So all the air pollution gets stuck on my board when I drive home. I'm doing my bit for humanity, cleaning up the air.

Strip the wax off and cover it up with nice clean white wax, including the dirty bits. Top problem solved!

The Leash rope/string is the bit you attach the leash too, the little thin bit that goes to the board.
The rail saver is the wide bit of webbing at the BOARD end of the leash. It's wide so that when the pressure is pulling between the board and the leash, the thin string doesn't pull THROUGH the tail/rail of the board like a cheese wire. Either double loop it then attach the leash or tie it shorter to make a smaller hole

as for dirty boards...serious...don't worry about it...some people clean their cars...others don't. All i say is, rinse with fresh water. especailly the metal fin bolts/screws and the leash bar to stop rusting and jamming!
