Surfing near Gibraltar - need recommedations

Hi All,
Heading to Spain, just outside Gibraltar for a weeks holiday. No specifically a surfing holiday, I'm not taking my board with me.
I'm a fairly new surfer, and have only really been surfing in the white water on my Bic 8'3" board. But feel very comfortable there (soon want to progress to going further out and shorter boards).
But looking for a beach nearby which is friendly to beginner surfers, has rental shops nearby etc.
I've found some places on the MSW list of locations, but could use a bit more information from people who have visited the area.
