Island Wave Surfboards

Postby poliovaccine » Sun Apr 12, 2015 2:34 pm

I'm somewhere in between being a beginner/intermediate surfer (like, can ride the foam, working on carves and turns). I'm looking into a fishboard, and am currently riding a 7'6 funboard. I found a brand new one on craigslist very cheap, but from a brand I've never heard of. It's made by Island Wave sports and it sounds like a factory made costco brand or something. Was wondering if brand plays a big role in buying a surfboard and whether or not i should go through with this purchase. I attached some pics. Thanks much! :D

Nup you are a beginner thats cool carves and turns don't really happen till you start riding the green face.
I really suggest that you get that happening with the 7'6" fun board, then think about progressing to different boards.
The fun board is not limiting you!You haven't scratched the surface in what you can do on the board yet.
read the the answers to the 9721 similar questions and see why this is advised
By the way that board is not in anyway like a costco, factory made Yes ( all boards are).
It is also not the board to aid your surfing , please reread above
Final part Salk or Sabin?
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun! 冲浪爷爷
