CI New Flyer vs. CI Fred Stubble

Postby Dma013 » Thu Mar 12, 2015 11:08 pm

Yes I was looking to get either the Fred Stubble or New Flyer for 2-4 ft small waves in the Newport area of California. I'm a 5'10 165lb high begginner who has recently transitioned from longboards. Which board would be easier for catching these waves and doing turns, I am not looking for a board for tricks right now. I was told by CI that a 5'9 Fred stubble would be best, but I thought it might be too short, any thoughts?

My opinion is, most CI salespeople just want to sell you any of their boards, and they don't care which one.
Hey it doesn't work for you but it's a sale!
Have a read up and see what you think with all the information on the forum.
Depends on how big a jump down you are going.
Other things like age and how you define a high beginner.

Get the Fred Stubble cause it's newer. The original Flyer is what like 10 years old over ? The flyers should have a small swallow tail which should be looser, but easier to damage the tips. If you are a "beginner" than you're less than average. CI does make the Average Joe.

I'm able to stand up and turn easily I just want a board that's easy to catch small waves, I used mostly longboards but I used a 6'8 fish which I'm kind of over and my skill level is ready for a shortboard I'm 16 btw. I probably fell 1 out of 100 times on the fish because it was it was really steady.

Good age prospects look at the average joe or similar i other brands, can't see why not just stay on the longer end of that series. :D
