what annoys you out in the water? i dislike the sense of exclusivity (sometimes, but i love my club :D ) and the attitudes of some surfers who believe they have the divine right to every wave.

i have to say the polluted water, and how no one ever listens about the facts of pollution. ***hole surfers who believe they are the *hit even though they suck and they think they're a local. people who are in front of me when im paddling for a wave, and do nothing about it

lots of stuff, but when i catch the wave i feel great about it, so yeah.

I have a love/hate relationship with the utter indecision crisis of weekends like this... There's a wave, but it ain't great, but it might get better, but it might get completely blown out... :?

Do I get in the van and make the long trip to the coast... or sit in the pub glad Im not in the windblown slop....

:!: I CAN'T DECIDE!!!!! :!:

People who talk the talk in the car park, and look the part, and act all 'heavy local' but can barely stand up on a wave - especially down in the westcountry where it happens most often (with the culprets having a 'more' northern accent usually!) .
...however this can turn out to be one of the more fun aspects of surfing when I get into the water and run circles round them whilst deliberately looking the un-trendy surfer  !

1. The faggots who wear hollister and abercrombie because they think that surf clothes.
2. Fourth of July Weekend. Every person comes to the beach and leaves trash everywhere, leaving it for us people who live there to pick it up.
3. Kooks
4. Surftech
5. People who think they HAVE to have a brand name board (lost, merrick, rusty) when there are tons of good shapers nearby, so they buy the brand name, which slowly puts local shapers out of business.

getting caught in the breaks, cause i'm new and haven't mastered duck diving ... i hate staring at a scary wave that is about to crash over me .. that and i get really tired from paddling, but it's soo worth it, and i'll get better with practice :)

this really isnt a regular occurence but it happend to me yesterday. i was jumping over some whitewater right before i was going to start paddling and my leg cramped up really bad and i just sort of froze up. another round of whitewater came in and it was fairly strong and knocked me off my board because i wasnt really able to move too much so my board ended up in front of me. yet another round of whitewater came in and slammed the board into my face. yay fun haha. oh yeah… it was a longboard
