Postby lilsolob » Fri Jan 23, 2015 5:34 am

Hey guys i just got a new 5'6 T.patterson surfboard and its a beauty. Its my friends birthday on saturday and he wants to go to Ventura. Its going to be 6-8 ft so i dont know if i want to risk snapping my board :( . I am an expirienced surfer so i dont have to worry about drowning or getting hurt but i am just worried about my board. Tell me what you think I should do :ninja:

You'll never never know if you never ever go! If you are scared for your board, you are not ready!
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun! 冲浪爷爷

I sold my Harley because I spent too much time polishing it and not enough time RIDING it. You bought your board to ride. And riding it in good size surf will make it that much more memorable.

It seems a shame to be afraid of using your board as it is supposed to be used. Now it's one thing if you are talking about teahupoo or some other shallow reef area where you are much more likely to damage your board and just some normal break. But overall your board is made for surfing, although maybe do you have a lightly coated high performance board? Otherwise with waves at 6 to 8 foot faces you aren't likely to break your board.......let me rephrase that if it was me I would have absolutely no worries about breaking my board. I have surfed a lot and never broke a board in two (although I never surfed thinly glassed boards.)
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

When the wave breaks here, don't be there :)

It's kind of a funny bit from the movie North Shore but really don't get hit by the lip and you won't likely break your board (unless you are doing aerials)
