So a year on... Turns out they're not too great after all. It's a massive pain in the butt having to charge batteries. And like ebombs, it takes forever and a day to dry. Especially if you go away for the weekend.... Which you need to do because the drive to the waves is freakin ridiculous in the uk. Really should have gone for a good quality 5/4.

I am actually thinking about one of these myself as I will be relocating to the west coast where its cold (I think?) even in summer.

If anyone has any experience hit me up

You leaving your tropical paradise? Probably need a 7/6 after getting used to those waters.

Forgot to tell you that many are saying the summer just gone down here was the worst surfing summer in memory...you should have been here last year!

I got back from oz in January mate, Ive managed to get out and surf twice in Hong Kong, both time it was damn cold and very sloppy 7/8s wind swell.. Im out of shape and under nourished. Just want to get back home and relocate to get back into shape and back to surfing.

Are you based down on the west coast then DTC? I am thinking about newquay as its got more infrastructure then anywhere else, discussing with the estate agent atm about getting my current flat on the market.

Also I hear there is some flat spells in summer? What type of flat - longboard flat? or flat flat?

Go "Close To Newquay" rather than "In Newquay" if you can - NQ is madness in summer (and not in a fun surfing way) :?

As for the surf...
Temperature - 3mm steamer in summer will be fine, 5mm + booties/gloves/hood in winter.

Flatness - yes, it gets flat spells. Not longboard flat, or australian flat, but actually flat. Like a lake. And in summer that can go on for a couple of weeks at a time. Autumn throws up the best swells and warmest water combo.
You'll probably find me surfing, but if not, I'll probably be in the photography studio
