Waxy wetsuit!

Postby AH » Sat Jun 11, 2005 10:03 pm

I recently bought my first wetsuit. I have noticed that wax has rubbed off on to it. As I was previously using a soft board, I hadn't realised this would happen. I also haven't noticed anybody else's wetsuit looking all waxy.

Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Also, while I'm on, is there anybody reading this who surfs in the North East of England? i.e Tynemouth/Saltburn?

This sometimes happens to me, i think it becuase your using the wrong wax and its not sticking to the board. Make sure the wax temperature is right for your water.

My suit is covered in wax - could be that we both use too much, but at least it shows that you're actually out there not just walking up and down the beach posing in your wetsuit.

I live with it, it's not really hurting anyone!!

Hey, I surf at tynemouth. :D Haven't tried any of the other spots round here but always seem to go to Longsands. There's a couple of ppl on here that surf there, not many.

Its great for b00gers, but looks a little out of place on stand-ups for sure.

Stick your suit in the washing machine on a short cool cycle wash with only a spoon full of washing power/liquid. That will remove the majority and your suit won't stink of piss any more. ;)
